Dr Suzi in the Media

2023 International Women’s Day Feature

I was honoured to be featured extensively by Charles Sturt University in March 2023 for my work over the years advancing gender equity.

Advocacy is never a one-person journey; nevertheless, I am grateful to be featured.

The 2023 feature involves

Dr suzi on SBSOne

I led an international project involving Australia and Turkey to commemorate the 100th ANZAC anniversary in 2015.

The JCI Poppies Project // Lest We Forget –Unutmayacağız produced over 800 handmade poppies, which contributed to a large public installation at Federation Square in Melbourne on ANZAC Day in 2015.

I was interviewed and appeared in an SBSOne news segment discussing the project. What an experience!

Making Education Accessible in rural Africa

Education is important to me. I work with Aussie Books for Zim to make education more accessible to rural communities in Zimbabwe.

In 2019, I curated an art exhibition, Tariro | Journey of Hope, to showcase Aussie Books for Zim’s social impact. The exhibition was a great success and it attracted the media’s attention.

I was interviewed by WIN News Illawarra (the Nine Network) and appeared in a news segment on 2 October 2019 about Tariro | Journey of Hope.

Dr Suzi At the United Nations

In 2018, I was appointed by Junior Chamber International (JCI) as the first female Chair of the JCI Partnership Committee.

Leading an international team consisting of young leaders from 14 countries, I chaired and hosted the JCI Global Partnership Summit at the United Nations, New York City in the same year.

Advancing Gender Equity

Over the years, I have visited Japan extensively and met forward-thinking women who work hard to advance gender equity in Japan.

To support their great work, I designed and hosted a Gender Equity Makers study tour in 2019 specifically for Japanese female executives.

The 4-day program involved learning from and connecting with Melbourne-based businesses as seen in the featured article.
